Sexual Battery & Simple Assault

Rochdale Village Complex

On Sunday, July 31, 2011, at approximately 1:04 a.m. a sexual battery and simple assaults occurred at 2424 Haste Street.  

Four Hispanic victims, one male and one female student, and two non-affiliated females, were attending a party at an apartment in the Rochdale Village Co-op complex. The male victim was standing in a hallway on the second floor when he was pinned to the wall by a male resident who groped him inappropriately.  The victim managed to get away from the suspect and rejoined his companions downstairs.  The suspect followed the male victim and threw drinks on the three female victims.  The suspect began punching the female victims around the face.  

The four victims fled the party but were followed by the suspect who continued to assault them.  The suspect was detained by his roommate and the four victims left the scene.  UCPD was contacted and arrested the suspect for sexual battery and simple assault.  The female victims sustained minor facial injuries during the incident.
